Yvonne Strahovski Lands Lead In Screen Gems Thriller ‘He’s Out There’
EXCLUSIVE: Yvonne Strahovski has landed the starring role in He’s Out There, a suspense thriller that Screen Gems will put into production next month. The film’s being directed by Dennis Iliadis from a script by Mike Scannell. Producers are Bryan Bertino and Adrienne Biddle of Unbroken Pictures.
Strahovski plays a mother who comes to visit a remote lake house, and finds herself fighting for the lives of herself and her two daughters after falling into a terrifying and bizarre nightmare conceived by a homicidal psychopath. Strahovski, whose credits include I, Frankenstein, The Guilt Trip and Killer Elite, has All I See Is You next up. Her TV work includes 24, playing a serial killer’s twisted girlfriend in Dexter, and Chuck. Screen Gems President Clint Culpepper and exec veep Scott Strauss are overseeing.
Strahovski is repped by Paradigm, McKeon Myones Entertainment, and Sue Barnett & Associates in Australia.
”Matching Jack”, a new film starring “Chuck” hottie Yvonne Strahovski, will hold its World Premiere at the Melbourne International Film Festival (22 July – 8 August) ahead of a national release on 30 September by Twentieth Century Fox.
“Jack” is the first film in over a decade for Australian filmmakers Nadia Tass and David Parker. The film is based around Marisa (Jacinda Barrett) and her son, Jack (Tom Russell). Life seems idyllic for the suburban Melbourne family until Jack suddenly winds up in hospital. Marisa tries to find her husband, David (Richard Roxburgh) who is in fact in the next suburb apparently planning to leave Marisa for his current mistress, Veronica (Yvonne Strahovski) with his phone off and not a care in the world.
Jack is diagnosed with Leukaemia and when David finally surfaces he learns that he is the key to Jack’s survival. If a matching bone marrow donor can’t be found on the world register, maybe there is some child of David’s out there from one of his flings?
Yvonne talks about Matching Jack: “I love dramas, I am drawn to tragic stories, and this [really] encompasses tragedy. It is always fun playing the other woman and trying to make her likable.”
On working with Nadia Tass: “Nadia is such an actor’s director, and she has the upmost respect for the actor’s process, and I think that is so rare to find, especially when I have come from with two years on a US television show. I feel very blessed to be working with Nadia.”
On working with co-star Richard Roxburgh: “Most of my scenes are with Richard [and] he is such a pro… his cheeky attitude on set has been fun as it is quiet a morbid script…he makes everyone laugh and the crew adores him.”
NBC has released their official description for “Chuck vs. the Honeymooners,” the new episode of Chuck airing on April 26:
CHUCK AND SARAH GO ON A EUROPEAN ADVENTURE – While in Europe, Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and Chuck (Zachary Levi) realize they’re traveling on a train with Spanish spies. Even though they’re all alone, they decide to take on these rogue agents. Of course, this impromptu mission doesn’t go smoothly. Meanwhile, Beckman (Bonita Friedericy) orders her newest “unlikely” spy team – John Casey (Adam Baldwin) and Morgan Grimes (Joshua Gomez) – to track down the missing couple. Sarah Lancaster, Ryan McPartlin, Scott Krinsky and Vik Sahay also star.
You already know that Chuck’s May 24 season finale will showcase ear-splitting music. But what you may not know is that two-hour capper will also feature (warning major spoilers)…
… at least one significant death, a childhood flashback with Chuck (Zachary Levi), Ellie (Sarah Lancaster), and Pops Bartwoski (Scott Bakula), and “two big game-changing twists” that exec producer Josh Schwartz promises will top last year’s. “This finale will leave fans very satisfied,” he continues, “and yet talking about what’s to come for a knock-on-wood Season 4.”
Speaking of which, Schwartz says the episode is not intended to function as a series finale should NBC do the wrong thing and cancel the show. “Much like last year, we’re putting all of our chips on the table,” he says. “We are going to drive our fans into a frenzy.”
Here are a few more “chips” to get you pumped for the big finish:
* Casey’s Crown Vic returns in a big way.
* Chuck has a mustache in the episode.
* Big Mike will have a very romantic scene with a Subway sandwich.
So, are you pumped?!?!
